Exciting and Nostalgic Park by alaina on November 15, 2011
I have been going to Kennywood since 1989 and every time, there is a new part of the park I have not seen before. My favorite rides are the old classics like the Kangaroo and the swings. The Jack Rabbit, Thunderbolt, and Racer roller coasters are all made of wood which gives a nice scary 'this could break at any moment' feel to the rides. The water rides are fun; the Log Jammer is a short thrill, as is the Pittsburgh Plunge, but the Raging Rapids lasts for quite a while an...

What separates Kennywood from other amusement parks is its ability to provide the newest advances in amusement park ride technology, while at the same time maintaining an old-timey, traditional amusement park theme and feel for several generations.

Kennywood is a rare mix of the classical and the new working together in harmony. On the one hand, you have the old timey theme park aesthetic reflected in its wooden roller coasters, its impressively large carousel, and its rich history reflected in plaques and signs throughout the park. On the other hand, there is no shortage of adrenaline pumping rides, roller coasters, and other fun offerings.
